Technical Information
The RSI-55 CF for Biodiesel, has a 55 gallon (210 liters) tank capacity with float valves, and contaminated solvent, usually either Methanol or Ethanol mixture, entry tube installed. As the solvent, either Methanol or Ethanol, distills through the condenser, controls sense the lowered level of un-distilled solvent remaining in the tank and activate the pumps for refilling contaminated Biodiesel and either Methanol or Ethanol mixture. Like all RSI systems, the RSI-55 CF for Biodiesel is designed to be durable, portable, simple to operate and safe. It is the only 55 gallon, continuous flow, for Biodiesel solvent distillation system manufactured today. It will distill, on a continuous basis, all of a customers non adhering, lightly contaminated solvent, usually either Methanol or Ethanol, that is in the mixture, without shutting down. And like all RSI systems, the RSI-55 CF for Biodiesel is designed with intrinsically safe electronic controls.
Simple: The RSI-55 CF for Biodiesel is "Operator Friendly" and as easy to use as other RSI systems. The operator first turns on the auxiliary heater that is supplied by RSI and sets the heat medium, at the correct exit temperature, to flow into and through and out of the RSI-55 CF for Biodiesel. He then adjusts the valve he has installed on this line so that all of the solvent, usually either Methanol or Ethanol, will be distilled. He then connects the fill line of his dirty contaminated solvent supply, usually Glycerin or Biodiesel contaminated with either Methanol or Ethanol, to the inlet pump, sets the Fuji control according to the incoming product temperature and amount to be recovered, connects the clean product vacuum tank to his storage facility, presses the start button on the Fuji control, and walks away. The water re-circulator is wired in so as to be automatic , the system operates unattended and even shuts itself off when completed. The process monitor has a color-coded face plate with suggested process temperature ranges in plain English. Except for keeping the system clean, there is no periodic maintenance on the RSI-55 CF for Biodiesel. However, the operator must be certain that the capacity of his storage tank is large enough to hold the distilled product..
Safe: The twin 5.5KW, 240 Volt heaters operates in a jacketed heat medium container, and together with the auxiliary recirculating heater, will eliminate any 'hot spots'. Solvent distillation, usually either Methanol or Ethanol, is controlled by low-voltage, 'Intrinsically Safe' Fuji controls. High voltage components are all housed in exposed NEMA-rated explosion proof housings. Finally, an over temperature breaker in the heater halts the heater process in case thermal control is lost.
Rugged: The tank, lid assembly, tube in tube condenser, vacuum and circuit board case of the RSI-55 CF for Biodiesel are 100% stainless steel for rugged good looks, easy cleanup and extreme durability. All stainless parts are easy to reach and clean, and resist all solvents and most acids for outstanding durability. All parts of the solvent distillation system as well as the electronic system design are modular and can be easily replaced if damaged. On the galvanized pallet, the two explosion proof motors and pumps are wired directly into the float switches in the stainless steel tanks to insure that the entire operation is automatic.
Fast: The RSI-55 CF for Biodiesel has twin 5.5KW 240 Volt electric heaters for fast, safe solvent recycling, backed up by an auxiliary heat system that circulates the heat medium. Those heaters quickly heat the heat medium in the jacket causing the solvent, usually either Methanol or Ethanol, to rapidly reach its vapor point. A water-cooled tube-in-tube condenser provides the most efficient and reliable condensing system available, making the entire system maintenance-free. A water chiller is available as an accessory for extra high temperature applications.
Versatile: Like other RSI systems, the RSI-55 CF for Biodiesel is portable. It is mounted on its own galvanized pallet and can be simply fork lifted from one department to another. And a 30 foot (10 meter) power cord connected to the control panel electric box is provided to make connection in each location easy . (Warning: Users are cautioned to provide adequate ventilation so as to not create an explosive atmosphere around the wall plug connection or the cooling water re-circulator)
Economical: The RSI-55 CF for Biodiesel pays for itself quickly. Diesel oil made from Biodiesel, Ethanol and Methanol, keeps getting more expensive. With the price of it going ever upward, you don't have to be an accountant to figure out that the purchase and use of an RSI-55 CF for Biodiesel results in a very quick payback to the purchaser.
