Recycling Sciences Continuous Flow Systems are designed to recover solvents from continuous flow waste solvent streams. One application for these types of systems is in the generation of biodiesel, where waste cooking oil is transformed into industrial grade diesel fuel. These Continuous Flow Systems are capable of distilling solvent at any rate from 1 GPM to 40 GPM, depending on the solvent to be recovered and the amount of heat pumped into the process.
The Waste solvent stream enters the still chamber, and is heated to the vaporization point of the solvent. The process can take place under vacuum up to 15" Hg, which can significantly reduce the boiling point.
Vaporized solvent is condensed back to liquid in a tube in tube condenser, and drains by gravity into the distilled solvent tank.
Electric pumps keep the system under vacuum, and automatically transfer the still tank remainder and the distilled solvents on to other process points.
All Recycling Sciences Continuous Flow solvent recovery systems feature all-Stainless steel construction, and distillation tanks are sized from 14 gallons to 250 gallons. As with all Recycling Sciences Systems, the Continuous Flow units are designed for the safe distillation of volatile and flammable solvents. Each is designed to be explosion proof and is therefore well suited to distilling flammable solvents. They are either portable or are mounted on galvanized steel pallets, and can be operated anywhere in the plant or factory that has adequate ventilation. All require a 240 Volt electrical connection and each is built to withstand vacuum, which is included with each system.
